Why have something that can do just one thing when you could have it do more? That is a common thought in today's society. It happens at work. Instead of doing just one job at a time and completing it, we have become masters of multi-tasking, working on and completing numerous projects simultaneously. We do it in our personal lives, with hand held PDA's that let us answer mail, shop on the net and do a number of other activities while we are watching a little league game or taking part in some other activity. Why shouldn't we expect the same in our furniture?
The ottoman storage chest has heard this request and is answering it. Traditionally an ottoman is a cushioned stool or small seat that has transformed into a footrest. It was originally a place to put your posterior, but over the years that role was handed off to the recliner or big comfy chair and the ottoman became a place for our feet to sit.

With designs of dogs or cats on the cushion, flip the lid to see a hold where all those treats can be safely tucked away. You can then close it up again and take a seat to pet your animals while they are begging for more of the goodies.
Finally, there are some ottoman storage chests that can do much more. While the usual ottoman storage chest you will see will be the footstool size model, there are others that are oversized. These may look more like a bench than a footrest. In fact, they can be used as excess seating when company arrives. They can also be a way to store extra linens, sheets and pillowcases for those guests who may not only visit for a few hours, but may decide to stay the night.
